It's Back, Episode 4 Project Runway Review..

Hey Everyone!!!
I was soo wrong when I thought you all weren't interested in my views of this season's Project Runway. I'm sorry about that, it won't ever ever happen again.
It goes to show me, if your not leaving comments doesn't mean your not looking..
My Sincerest Apologies!

 Project Runway
REVIEW
 Fashion Flip

Episode starts with everyone sitting in their rooms talking about what happen on the last episode.
Amanda's still not understanding what the judges want, just like all of us are being totally confused with the judges and their horrible decisions..
All Shade!!!

It's the MARY KAY Challenge.
Tim introduces us to Global  Mary Kay Makeup Artist Luis Casco and talks about Iconic Designs such as the pencil skirt, the wrap dress and the trench coat just to name a few.
The designers had to take the Iconic Designs, modernize and bring their own interpretations to it.

They also have to work with Luis and come up with an Iconic Makeup as well.
The winner will have an exclusive Mary Kay ad inside of Marie Claire Magazine and when $5000 in cash. Go-head Mary Kay!!!

Everybody's off to their 1st trip to Mood after sketching..

$250 and 45 minutes to shop.
Give me $250 move out of the way and I'll show you all the damage I can do..
One day I can't wait to just pet, Swatch!!
It's my dream....
LOL!

I'm soo over Blake at this moment that I'm not discussing anything about how fake he is..
But I Digress..

Focus Mrs. Atallah!
Here's MY opinion on the Runway...

Candice leather dress was sexy but that coat was not what I was envisioning when we saw it back at Parson's. It had more of a flared bottom, almost peplum like and I HATE peplum but I though it looked better than what we saw on the runway.

As you can see the Model didn't like it either. That's why she took it off.
LOL!

Top 3 and SAFE

Lindsey 3 pieces were BORING!!
I just don't understand any innovation at all in the skirt, top and long swing jacket that was 2 sizes too big for the model, very dis-proportioned.
She really thought that she could win..
I think not!!!!

Bottom 3 and SAFE

Gabrielle's dress was a Monstrosity, all that time complaining about how much you hate your dress you should have been sewing it. I think worrying got the best of her because of last weeks critique with Amanda. Still, it was a straight dress, 2 panels, that's it with a little pink netting on the shoulders and that didn't come out right. The hem was all chewed up the top was a mess girl, you should have gone home.

I give you this, that jacket was really cute. I, myself really liked it, but the judges didn't.

Bottom 3 and LOSER

Alot of the ladies in my sew group really liked Swapnil's dress.
Heidi fell in love with it, she always like to be naked.
I can tell you I like the front more that the back.

Top 3 and SAFE

Amanda's throwing  SHADE at Candice about her confidence and her mediocre style.
Sweetie worry about your boring dress.
Y'all already know GOD don't like ugly and he isn't to keen on cute.

What kind of wrap dress it this mess? We have beginner sewers in our groups that will sew circles around this ugly dress.

Bottom 3 and SAFE

Ashley's dress was nice, but nothing great to write home about.

SAFE

The judges thought Blake's dress was the best thing since sliced bread.
I thought is was very confusing and Swapnil should had never helped me. Even Tim was confused by it in the sewing room. I would never, ever make a dress like this for anyone or myself..

Top 3 and WINNER!!

I didn't like Edmond's Jacket at all. It was too Vampira liking to me.

SAFE

Jake made a 2 panel very short sequin dress with a #9 on it.
Are we on a video shoot or Project Runway. How in the hell can he be safe?
You tell me...

SAFE

I'm not going to lie. I don't like Joseph's Grandma Sookie Soul and you already know how I feel about peplums, but I thought this was the best dress by far.

SAFE

Kelly's take on a white tee was very cute.
I understood and love her concept and execution.

SAFE

Laurie's top looked like a Altar Boys Rob or a Painter Smock cut in half..

SAFE

The first time I saw Merline's jacket I liked it, but doing further investigating.
I found it really confusing, just like I feel about the judges this week.

SAFE

This week the Designer's and the Judges confused the hell out of me.
This week everyone failed at being innovative and modern.
When we watch PR we want to be inspired and amazed, instead we got boring and bland.

Thanks for joining me..
Leave a comment, only if you like.

My Over-sized Structured Hobo Bag Tutorial

Hey Everyone!
I posted this Structure Hobo Bag on my FB Sewing groups pages and told you all that I would be posting the tutorial up this afternoon..
Well without any further adieu..

Here it is...

First let me tell you how she came about..
I was looking through Etsy and came across a similar hobo bag but alot less structured and it had me thinking that if I had enough faux leather to make another, yes another bag..
I love bags, I will never ever have enough of bags in my arsenal

Important!
Another thing, I make these tutorials solely for myself, not for profit or gain.
When I make these tutorials and give your the videos in which I use please, please don't take these tutorials and try to sale them as your own.
OK! Now after that Public Service Announcement..
Make sure you READ this tutorial all the way through for my tips to make a better bag for yourself.

Let get it on...
I haven't named her yet, but that doesn't mean that I love any less than the others,
LOL!

Another view of her on my dress form to give you an idea of how big she really is..

Materials needed:

Leather or faux leather
Loop
Lobster clip
(both from and old purse I had)
Sewing machine

Instructions:
First get a large piece of paper cut the shape of your purse.
I used and old purse I had all ago. My purse dimensions are
21 x 21 and the bag's handle is 7 and a half inches long.
The width of the handle is 4 inches but you are going to fold it in half.
If you cut the whole circle you don't have to do this part.

Leave a comment below if you need more info on it.

Trace your bag and cut it out to transfer to faux leather.

Transfer on the fold of the faux leather.

Make 2 of these.

Tip:
If I were you I would extend the handles and cut them on the fold as well.
It will be much easier for you just to sew it altogether and not have to put on a handle like I did..
Waste of damn time, but you live and learn..

Measure the length and width of your phone and cut twice as long and about 2 inches wider than your phone.

Sew up sides like the picture below and then your going to trace the bottom circle of you armhole.

Your going to cut and sew pocket inside of bag.

It should look like this.

I stole the clip and loop from my same old purse and attached the faux leather around them.

Attach Loop to middle front of bag and Attach Clip in between the pocket and back of the purse.

Just like this..
Now sew bag all together and turn inside out.

Sorry I didn't take a picture of me attaching the handle. I suggest you do what I said before about the handle and create the entire circle.

Closer look of handle..

Front side of handle, you see what I'm saying.
Your bag would be alot nicer if you complete the whole circle of the armhole.

Closer look at loop and clip..

And there you have it..

Jil Sander Inspired Lunch Bag.... Soo Easy!!

Hey Everyone!!!
I'm back again with another "Inspired" Jil Sander Lunch Bag.
Well you all probably can guess that I have a bag, purse, clutch addiction.
I love bags, I have a whole closet in my home dictated to accessories.

I've had my eye on this bag for sometime now to recreate, but didn't have a chance until now.
I seriously don't know why I waited because it was the easiest, out of all of my bags I've made.
5 easy pieces is all you need.

Click on the link below to view my accessory closet:

Meet Goldie!!!

This is the original Jil Sander Lunch Bag.

PAPER BAG by Jil Sander

I followed the video below provided, minus the studs and the stitches around.
I thought the bag was perfect without all the bells and whistles.

YouTube Video Below:
Q2HAN

Material Used:
Leather or Faux Leather of your choice

No loops or zippers
Nothing!!
NADA!!

I used this Perfection Fused Leather from Fabric.com
Link Below:

This leather is soo soft and supple, maybe even a little too soft for the project but I've had this leather since 11/2013. I made a skirt with this and hated it, re-purpose it into something fabulous.

Step 1:
Cut  2, 12 x 8 pieces
2, 4 x 12 pieces
1, 4 x 8 piece

5 Easy Pieces is all you need for this bag.

Take the 2, 4 x 12 pieces, fold in half and sew along the center.

Mark the difference with the length to the center bottom panel and cut it away.

Sew the fronts and bottom together.

Sew sides together.

Make sure you trim access.

View of the side,

Sew bottom sides and trim access.

Turn inside out
Excuse the feet, lol!!

Viola!!

Isn't she cute!!!!

Another view of her

No More Project Runway Review..

Hi Everyone!
I'm here to let you know that I'm discontinuing the Project Runway Review Weekly Blog..
Due to the low volume of looks. I decided not to put my energy in it.
Plus, if you have the internet you can see it the next day.
LOL!

If you'd like me to start back reviewing, please comment below.
 I may bring it back..

I just want to leave you with this one thing..

Blake and Kelly were ROBBED!

"My" Best Garment of the week and winner was this.
You can't tell me that they weren't the Winner.
This jumpsuit was Beautiful, Elegant, and made a Hell of a Statement and will be recreated my moi!

I just don't understand how this wasn't at least one of the top looks.

Blake and Kelly Greek Isle Inspired Look was every bit of Grecian Goddess.

Actual Winner.
No Shade
Yes! Shade
Ashley and Candice made a Fabulous Venetian Inspired Look but I was pissed because of the fit of the pant and every bit of  Kelly and Blake was perfection.

I just don't understand judges.

DIY Faux Leather Tote Bag

Hey Everyone!
I'm back again with another DIY for you all.
I don't know what it is but I'm really starting to love making handbags, clutches, and totes.
I guess it's the faux leather that's inspiring me.

Well this time, it's an easy Faux Leather Tote To Go!
It took about 2 hours to from start to finish.

This will definitely be my everyday purse when the girls school starts and running errands.
The faux leather was purchased on fabric.com for $7 a yard.
I only purchased a yard but received almost 2 yards.
Thanks Fabric.com..

Looking at YT, again and I saw the cutest leather tote that I had to make.
First, I made a mini purse, just to see if I could so it.
Then I decided to make the larger version. It came out perfect..
My hubby even thought it was a new purse and didn't believe I made it.
He inspected it as many Arabs do and I just laughed.
He said. babe it's really nice.

PROUD MOMENT!!!!

I'm calling her Jordan.
I don't know why, it just came to me.

The tutorial came from the video below, again I made a change with the straps because I didn't like how straps came out in my mini.

Her name is Jade Tyler.

Jordan hanging on my door.
Soo Cute.

Materials Needed

Faux Leather or Vinyl
Chalk
Scissors
Ruler
Sewing machine if you have one
Loop (optional)

Now Let's Begin!
First, your going to fold your leather in half and measure 19 inches on the fold, side to side and 15 inches, up and down. At the bottom of the fold you're going to measure 3 inches in and 3 inches down. Like picture below, and cut both squares out.

Like below..

You're also going to cut 2, 25-27 inches long
 straps for the tote.

All pieces together.

Fold strap in half and sew along both sides leaving about 2 inches unsewn.

The only changes I made is that I didn't open the straps.
I just sewn them on squared and attached my straps on first.
On the video she opened the straps I didn't like how it looked on my mini.

After straps are on.

Turn outside in..

I also added a loop for my purse charm and keys.

Sew the loop inside the sides of the tote.
DO NOT, sew the cut square portion.

Only sew up to the edge.

After sewn sides, pull the side of square together to make a straight line.
Sew on line to close tote.

Do the same on the other side.

Turn inside out and there you have it..
Picture of my loop and clip for my keys or charm.

Picture of bottom..

Picture of Jordan and the mini.
Now my baby girl uses it for her things..

I hope you liked my DIY Tote To Go!!
If you like, please try it and leave a comment telling me what you think about it.
